Old Town

Welcome to Old Town

A peaceful town with beautiful rivers, streams, and lakes

Old Town is a small, picturesque town in central Maine, less than two hours from the Gulf of Maine and beautiful coastal communities. The community is surrounded by many attractive water sources like Pushaw Stream, Penobscot River, Stillwater River, Pushaw Lake, and Perch Pond.

Old Town is a great place to live because of the great schools, unique location, outdoor lifestyle, and friendly people. The community has a rich history of log drivers, sawmills, hydropower, canoe building, and other wood commodity productions. Today, Old City is primarily a residential community surrounded by acres of forest, marshes, and waterways. The community is home to many nature enthusiasts who enjoy hunting, hiking, canoeing, and bird watching.

In addition to the historic district, which is home to many of the town’s residents, many neighborhoods are within a short walk into downtown. Old Town has a strong sense of community and is very walkable, with many attractions, restaurants, shops and boutiques, community events, and parks.
