Considering a move to Veazie, Maine?
Veazie is a small town in Penobscot County which is about 4 miles north of Bangor with a population of a little over 1,900. The town is named after General Samuel Veazie, who was an early lumber baron and railroad operator. In fact, Veazie was originally part of Bangor, as Veazie was using Penobscot River water power to operate sawmill but in 1853 General Veazie separated the town as being the wealthiest citizen, through Bangor’s property taxes were too high at the time. Now, it’s a super cute sleepy town.
